Poet - Teacher - Activist - Artist

Shannon Vare Christine has always been drawn to writing. Clacking away on a gifted typewriter as an adolescent is one of her most treasured early writing memories. Poetry has always held a special place in her life, but it wasn’t until the 2016 election when the poems she wrote became lifesavers themselves. A series of Poems to Politicians gave voice to her outrage over community issues, as she mailed off poems to local politicians and officials. From that moment on, writing poems has both consumed and fueled her creative journey.

When not writing, Shannon Vare Christine devotes her time to teaching High School English in Bucks County, PA. For over 25 years, she has brought her passion for poetry and writing to her students. Most notably by hosting an Annual Student Open Mic Night, which has grown in popularity each year.

Her original poems, poetry reviews, and literary criticism have been featured in a variety of publications and journals. She continues to forge connections with fellow creatives and writers, reciprocally learning and sharing.

Always writing, creating, exploring, and painting.

Come, travel along.

Drawn to the weird and lovely.

“See the world feelingly.”

If it doesn’t make you laugh or cry, what’s the point?
